2. Overview of Processing:
This website processes personal data in the following contexts: general access to the site (server log data), use of the built-in Squarespace analytics and cookies, the optional newsletter signup, and the optional link to my Patreon page.
Each is explained below, along with the legal basis under the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
3. Hosting (Squarespace):
This website is hosted by Squarespace, Inc., 225 Varick Street, New York, NY 10014, USA.
Squarespace automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which your browser transmits automatically, including: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, date and time of access. This data is processed to ensure the technical operation and security of the website (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in stable and secure delivery of the site). Squarespace is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF), which the European Commission has recognized (as of its 10 July 2023 adequacy decision) as providing an adequate level of data protection for transfers of personal data to certified US companies. As a fallback, Squarespace's data processing agreement also incorporates the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. 4. Cookies and Squarespace Analytics:
This website uses cookies set by Squarespace for core functionality (e.g. remembering settings, load balancing, security) and, if enabled, first-party analytics ("Squarespace Analytics") to understand visitor traffic (e.g. pages viewed, referring sites, approximate location, device type). Strictly necessary cookies are processed under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a functioning website). Any non-essential cookies are only set with your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, collected via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though this may limit some site functionality.
5. Newsletter (Squarespace Email Campaigns)
If you sign up for my newsletter, I collect your email address, and optionally your name if you provide it, in order to send you updates via Squarespace Email Campaigns, a feature of Squarespace, Inc. (same provider and data-transfer basis as described in Section 3). Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given when you sign up. What's collected: email address, name (if given), and basic engagement data (e.g. whether you opened an email or clicked a link). Storage duration: your data is stored until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, or by contacting me directly at yoga@dasidealeleben.de Double opt-in: After signing up, you will receive a confirmation email; your address is only added to the list once you confirm.
6. Patreon:
This website contains a link (via a "Sign up" / "Become a Patron" button) to my Patreon page (https://www.patreon.com/cw/riverbanks_community). Clicking this link takes you to a separate, independently operated website run by Patreon, Inc., 548 Market St PMB 34345, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA. I have no control over the data processing on Patreon's site once you leave mine. Patreon's own privacy policy applies from that point: https://www.patreon.com/policy/privacy
7. Your Rights:
Under the GDPR, you have the right to: - Access the personal data I hold about you (Art. 15) - Have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16) - Have your data deleted ("right to be forgotten") (Art. 17) - Restrict processing (Art. 18) - Receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20) - Object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21) - Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting past processing (Art. 7(3)) - Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Germany, this is the data protection authority of your federal state, or the Federal Commissioner (BfDI) if no state authority applies. 8. Data Security:
I use Squarespace's built-in security measures (SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit) to protect data submitted through this site. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but reasonable technical and organizational measures are in place.
